The Foundation of Our Faith

We belong to U.S. Mennonite Brethren. Historically, it is peaceful and considered Anabaptist. (People who have already been baptized as children once again are baptized from their own will after having faith. We believe from the Bible that we are to be baptized from our own decision.)

In the middle of sixteenth century, Menno Simon realized that the baptism taught in the Bible is to be done when we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior.

He then was baptized again. During that time period, they were all getting baptized as small children. Therefore, as a meaning to be baptized once again, it is called Anabaptist.

This group was born in Netherlands and was persecuted by Catholics and other Protestants. They fled to Germany, Poland, Russia, then to North America. Missionaries have been sent from North America including Fresno, California to all over the world. There are currently about one million Mennonite Brethren church members in the world.

The Characteristics of Our Church

Our church lead people to Jesus and grow together attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ and send out to preach Jesus in this world.

  1. Biblical: We believe that the Bible is the true words of God. We acknowledge the authority of the Bible and follow the teaching.
  2. We emphasize the importance of ministry: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 16:15)
  3. Peaceful: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39) In order to achieve the words God and his love, we treat one another with brotherly love in church and with love of neighbors outside church. Therefore, we are strict pacifism.
